Meet our New Interns

Peiyao "Victoria" Meng
Peiyao "Victoria" Meng, 23, is a senior international student completing her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Communication studies at Northwest University, Kirkland, WA.

Her home town is Weifang, China, a city of 1.38 million people about 200 miles north east of Beijing. She came to Northwest University in Kirkland, WA in 2014 after two years at Lake Washington Institute of Technology where she earned an Associate Degree of Business.

Peiyao chose to study in the United States in order to develop fluency in English and learn how to appreciate American culture for a future career in international business. In her spare time she enjoys watching films and spending time chatting with her friends.

“We are pleased to have Peiyao as our full time college intern,” says Leda Art Supply Creative Director Gary Gillespie.

“We do a lot of business with suppliers in China so her life experience is invaluable as we communicate with factories about new products," he said.

She will manage the Leda Art Supply Pinterest boards and create a Leda presence on Youtube sketchbook channels said Gillespie.

“Pinterest is an ideal social media for our brand because so many artists go there to pin their favorite works,” he said, pointing out that the platform reaches an audience of 100 million who actively pin. Her goal will be to increase followers and spread the good news about the best selling premium Leda sketchbooks.

Jacob Gannon

Jacob Gannon, 20, is a senior Business Administration major from Renton, Washington. Jacob plans to go into marketing and hopes to travel overseas. He is applying for the JET program to teach American culture to high school students in Japan after graduation.

In his spare time he likes hiking, drinking coffee and traveling to new places.

As a Leda Art Supply social media intern, Jacob will manage our Instagram account by posting related product images and customer art as well as responding to comments.

“Jacob has an impressive resume that makes him a good fit to help our company reach the 500 million monthly users of Instagram,” says Creative Director Gary Gillespie.

“We sell online and need to engage with our customers. We’ve found that artists have strong feelings about which brands are trustworthy. When potential customers see that people in their network like Leda notebooks they are much more likely to make a purchase. We welcome Jacob to our team.”

In addition to social media promotions, Peiyao and Jacob will also assist with administrating the Seattle E-Commerce Conference, hosted by Leda Art Supply on November 4 and 5.
